Beaumont Taekwondo Centre is a community club based in Our Lady of Mercy College, Beaumont in North Dublin. The club was established by local Master of Taekwondo Gerry Martin with the help of his family and friends in November 2011. In year one, we’ve built a strong membership of over 50 students learning Taekwondo, the Korean form of martial art. We are determined in 2013 and beyond to strengthen and sustain our club by supporting students as they develop their knowledge and skills in Taekwondo.
Beaumont Taekwondo Centre is a friendly, comfortable environment in the spacious and bright sports hall in Mercy College (located in Beaumont Woods, close to Beaumont Hospital) where people from ages 6 to 106 come to learn a new skill, get fit, make friends and have fun in the process. We have a strong panel of qualified instructors who are committed to a quality training experience by restricting class sizes so as not to exceed a ratio of 1 instructor to every 15 students.
This club teaches and observes the principles or tenets of Taekwondo which include courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit. We expect our students to be courteous and mannerly; to show integrity and fairness in their training; to persevere even when things get tough; to show self control inside and outside the class (dojang) and to build an indomitable spirit which will help them in all aspects of life. We are also determined to create a spirit of team work amongst students by encouraging students to support each other.
